Our school is located in the center of Tsuchiura-city, Ibaraki-prefecture in approximately 100km north of Tokyo. The school will reach the foundation 70th anniversary in the next fiscal year.

 Firstly we talk about the summary of the current school.
 The number of enrolled students is 458 people, and the mean number of the one grade is approximately 150 people. The number of the students per one class is of 37 from 30 now.

  The class students takes the lesson by the two teachers in one class when we say it about the characteristic of the school. In addition about the club activities after school, there are 14 athletic clubs and 3 culture clubs. The Board of Education installed the electronic board and the digital textbook in all classrooms.  It shows effectively to get into "the active learning to live" for  the students.

First please be informed about the outline of our school's history. A new law about the education was established in 1971, and Japanese new education system was enacted.
 And "Tsuchiura Junior High School" was founded in May of 1975. And it was renamed to "Tsuchiura first Junior High School" next year.
 Because  our school was filled with the generations of the students (=It was called "the baby boom") and could not secure a school building enough in the 1980s, that pushed forward a class with two part system of the morning and the afternoon stays.
 In the 1990s - 2010s, improvement of gymnasium and pool, tennis court setting was planned and the students could study using the computers.

 We are very thankful, and you can watch that Tsuchiura first Junior High School is warmly as a local junior high school.

　本校は，東京の約１００ｋｍ北にある茨城県土浦市の中心にある学校です。本校は，来年創立70周年を迎えるます。

　はじめに，現在の本校の概要について申し上げます。
　生徒数は４５８名で，１学年の平均人数は約１５０名です。１学級当たりの生徒数は，現在は３０人から３７人となっております。
　学校の特徴について申しますと，１学級に２人の教師で授業をすすめる「少人数指導」という形式の授業を多く取り入れています。部活動は，全部で１４の運動部，３の文化部があります。また，教育委員会は，全教室に電子黒板とデジタル教科書を設置してくれていて，生徒の「生きる力」を育成するために，有効に活用しています。

　次に，本校の歴史の概略について，申し上げます。
  １９７１年に法律が制定され，日本の新しい教育制度ができました。
　そして，その年の５月に「土浦中学校」が創立され，翌年には「土浦市立土浦第一中学校」と改称されました。
　１９８０年代には，ベビーブームの世代が小中学校にあふれ，校舎が十分確保できないので，午前と午後の二部制で授業を進めたという記録も残っています。
　１９９０年から２０１０年にかけて，体育館やプール，テニスコート設置やコンピュータ教室等の充実が図られ，現在にいたっています。
